The Jonas Brothers were raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey in a Christian home. They loved to perform as kids and had very supportive parents. Their father was a pastor and musician, while their mother, who was a teacher, inspired them to perform in front of audiences. They used their father's church to bring them exposure until eventually noticed, opening doors for Nick to do many Broadway shows. Soon after, Joe got his shot at Broadway, too, while Kevin tried his hand at television commercials.

Nick signed Columbia Records in 2004 and focused his career on Christian songs. A year later, Joe and Kevin signed the same label with their youngest sibling, bringing the brothers together. That same year, the family was faced with a crisis when Nick was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The brothers banded together and helped to raise Nick up during that difficult time.

In 2007 the three signed Hollywood Records releasing their smash hit S.O.S., the first single off their self-titled album. The three won over a core fan base of girls. Their break came when touring with Miley Cyrus on "Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour". By that time, they were already becoming a sensation. The band had a loyal following and so did each Jonas brother.
